My Baby is Three!!!

Dear Sam, (aka Sammy, Samster, Hammy, Ham, Hambone, Hamster, Hamburger)
You are turning 3 today.
I can't imagine life without you.
I would do it all again......

*I would endure the world's worst pregnancy
*I would be so nauseous for 20 weeks that I couldn't get off the couch, and then have 20 more weeks of "manageable" nausea
*I would get bloody noses so bad that they lasted hours and bruised my face
*I would be on modified bed-rest the last two months for heart palpitations and arryhthmia

*I would go get blood drawn for tests once a week for the last 10 weeks
*I would take a terrible medication the last month that made me gain 10 extra pounds and throw up
*I would get Influenza B two weeks before delivery and be bed-ridden with a fever until you were born

*I would endure a terrible delivery where my tail bone would crack because you were so big
*I would come home from the hospital, still sick with the flu, and cough for 6 more weeks
*I would stroll you around the garage 6 times a day in 90 degree heat so you would stop crying long enough to eat
*If that didn't work, I would load all the kids in the car and drive around until you could calm down

*I would endure 6 months of postpartum depression and another year after that of postpartum anxiety
*I would take shifts through the night strolling you around the family room so you could sleep because you couldn't lie down on your back in your crib because of your ear infections and acid reflux
*I would take you to physical therapy and the chiropractor every other day for two months to fix your sore neck (torticollis)
*I would take you to the doctor every week to try to figure out why you were so sad

*I would average 4 hours of sleep a night for ten months
*I would nurse you for a year because you refused to take a bottle
*I would give up chocolate and dairy for a year so I could nurse you and you wouldn't scream
*I would get mastitis 3 times

My sweet Samuel,
I would do it ALL again

In a heartbeat...

It was worth it.

You have become the sweetest, happiest, funniest,

most patient, affectionate, compliant, and content...

Big Boy!!!!!
I love you so much
Love, Mommy

(This picture makes me laugh.  He is trying to "cheese" so hard that a vein is popping out in his forehead)

Um, Amy, I think you might be enrolled in Parenting 505. Looks like a fun birthday!
