Back to School Time!

My kids were actually pretty excited to start back to school this year. Lucy was beside herself in anticipation and excitement. She had her outfit picked out for days in advance and was very specific about how I did her hair. Here she is insisting on giving Josh a big (albeit awkward) hug before leaving him for the day. I probably got about 50 hugs myself that morning.

Jake refused to wear any new clothes on the first day--he says he doesn't like when other kids notice anything new about him (haircut, clothes, shoes, etc.). He did use his new backpack, however.

As for me, I get a little sad every year, but it is so nice to get back into a schedule and routine. I enthusiastically scrubbed my house clean this morning knowing that it would stay that way for most of the day.
