I love candy.
I must have some every day.
Time for a refill.
Some things I've learned since buying these jars a year and a half ago:
1 - It takes waaaaay more candy than you think to fill these up.
2 - The first time I filled them up it cost $54.00 (just the candy, not the jars)
I now fill only one of the small jars with "expensive" kind of candy: m&m's, PB cups, etc., and the other two jars, especially the big one, with inexpensive wrapped candy: taffy, suckers, etc.
3 - The jars don't work as a kitchen island centerpiece because the kids are constantly climbing on the counter for candy.
(I do severely limit the amount of candy and treats they can have each day.)
4 - If you move the jars to the counter by the sink, the kids still see the candy every time they enter the kitchen (50 times a day) and ask/beg for some.
5 - If you move them to the Butler's Pantry, it still makes for a fun decoration but it's more "out-of-sight, out-of-mind" for the kids.
6 - And last but not least, you will start to get a reputation in the neighborhood as the Candy Lady.
I have a slight fear that I am somewhat buying my kids friends with treats.

Don't worry, my parents became known for their magically refilling m&m bowl. Their house was our meeting place before all our adventures and it was fun to know there was a snack we could munch on while we waited for everyone to arrive :)
I have candy jars in my classroom. I'm partial to Jolly Ranchers. I use them as bribery. It is fantastic!! I applaud your jars.
If I had to look at those jars sitting out all day I would be 10 pounds heavier. I have NO will power. None.
Oh Amy I am a candyaholic!!! It's my favorite thing to snack on. You know that I do the jars too - but they are much smaller and I only do them for the holidays! For the same reasons you mentioned. :)
BTW - I LOVE your newly painted entertainment center! It looks so good! And I am just like you when it comes to a project. Crazy about getting it done....
Thanks for all the candy! My kids are the ones who come over eating all your candy!
