In Between

The wonderful getaway trip that Jeff and I had planned, didn't quite work out.
We left Wednesday afternoon around 1:00 p.m.
We got all the way down to St. George, turned around and drove all the way home
(It's a long story, having a little to do with missing my kids and a lot to do with heart palpitations and panic attacks--yes, I am still suffering from post-partum shizola, and I am sooooooooooo thankful for an understanding, patient, long-suffering husband.)

Anyhow, we left the next morning at 6:00 a.m. and drove all the way to California with the kids.
That was 20 hours of driving in less than 30 hours for Jeff and me.
(And this time I remembered my emergency meds)  :)

It was a whirlwind trip.  We were only there for 2 1/2 days (not counting driving days), but we crammed a lot of fun in.

We made a trip to Downtown Disney and ate at the Rainforest Cafe.
We also crossed that off our list of places to eat in Disney--overpriced and underdelicious.

We stopped at the Lego store--a must for my boys.

We spent most of the time at the beach.

 Most importantly,
we stopped and Trader Joe's and stocked up.

Our hotel was awesome and we had great views,
Of the ocean, of course.

We had a fantastic time and in exactly 5 days we are driving to California AGAIN!
This time to Lake Tahoe with my side of the family.

We had a great time in San Diego
And I'm super excited about a trip with my family
(especially my sisters who live out of state).......

But all I can think about in the 5 short days
in between these two trips
(along with the fact that I have a nasty head and chest cold)

is.......

.....all the laundry, unpacking, repacking, unpacking again, and laundry to do......
again.
I'm not complaining, though,
I love traveling.  I love summer.  I love my family.
I love laundry.

Aaahhh-- Amy!! Sorry about the anxiety but I'm sure your kids were excited when they saw you coming back and heard they get to go on your trip too. That is A LOT of driving though. A LOT! But probably worth a few good days at the beach. Nothing like the sound of waves and the ocean to help relax and cheer you up!

It looks like the kids had so much fun! Next year we should do that hotel and all go to the beach!
