Guess who is hidden behind this giant, forty pound backpack?
My tiny, handsome, boy scout all packed and ready to go to scout camp tomorrow.
The poor boy takes after the Holland side of the family.
We all stayed very small and developed much later than normal (like 16 or 17 years old).
I'm so glad that he likes himself and is comfortable with his size. His BIG personality more than makes up for it.
Of course, I am beside myself with worry.
This is his first scout camp. He should have gone last year but it happened to be the week that Jeff and I were in London for our anniversary.
He's very excited and not nervous a bit.
Jeff told me I absolutely could not ask the scout master to please send me a text every night to report that my boy is alive.
Some of the merit badges the boys are working on are SCUBA, white-water rafting, and shotgun.
All I can say is AHHHHHHHH!

He looks so excited, even if the backpack is actually wearing HIM. I hope he has fun (and stays safe). I'm with you! My boy just started cub scouts, and I'm already freaking out about future scout camps (especially after hearing all my husband's scout camp stories!) I'll be a mess when he's actually old enough to go!
