Catch up time!

It's been forever since we've updated. A lot has been going on. Most of it unpleasant. Jeff and I have spent the last 3 months taking shifts throughout the night, pacing and strolling (yes, around the family room at 3 a.m.), with a sick, crying baby. Here is the latest:

The very best news of all is we finally were able to get tubes put in Sam's ears. Essentially, I traded in my very cranky baby for a delightful, happy, sleeping baby. His ears were so bad that after the tubes were in, all the crud up in his ears, nose, sinuses, head, etc. drained for 24 hours and the next day he slimed me with a huge vomit of solid mucus. Ever since, our lives have drastically changed for the better. Sam now has 3 hour naps twice a day, he sleeps 10 hours at night, he plays on the floor happily for hours, he cuddles with us. Because of all this, I am a different person as well. It makes me so sad to think that he has been in so much pain for so long. I am so so thankful for modern medicine, I am thankful for sleep, and most of all I am thankful for a life that may return to normal. The last 8 months have been so hard (to say the very least), and I welcome a regular routine rather than just being in survival mode. Just in time for the holidays!

Our house is coming along really, really fast and we will be so excited to be out of my mom's basement (absolutely nothing against my fantastic mom but it is really hard to share one small bathroom and have a mini fridge, a toaster, a microwave, and a picnic table in a storage room for a kitchen). I look forward to cooking again!

Yes, that's right, everyone. I have taken up a new hobby. TENNIS! I have started lessons over at the Ivory Ridge tennis courts. My boys are already in the Junior Tennis League and my ENTIRE family plays so I figured that it is time I learned.

Glad Charlie is doing better. I think the saying is fat and happy not fat and cranky. House looks awesome, when can we come for a tour? Looking forward to Tooele.

I can't imagine how hard it's been with Sam. That is so crazy about all the drainage after the tubes. Yay for Sammy! Now he can be happy. I love the tennis thing. That is a cool hobby to take up. I would think it would be a good stress reliever. See you Thursday!

I was so glad to hear that Sammers Jammers was feeling better. Mike and I should really consider taking up tennis, so that we can kick everyone's butts when we come up.

Amy, I am so glad to hear Sam is happy, and you are getting some rest. I was so worried about you, you looked so tired on Friday. That is great news, the house is looking awesome! I know I still need to post some of mine but I can't seem to get pictures when the house is clean (which is pretty rare). By the way, you look super hot in your tennis outfit, I wish I had that body, sounds like fun!
