We spent most of this last week and weekend with some or all of us sick. Josh started it off early in the week; then Jake, and now Lucy and Amy. It has been fantastic. Needless to say--no photos, although we do need to post photos of Jake's birthday still. My two favorite moments from this past weekend:
(1) Lucy's enthusiasm for Christmas. Believe it or not, she is more excited about Christmas than Amy. All of the decorations are out at her insistance and she watches Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer constantly. She loves the song that goes, "We're a couple of mis-fits, we're a couple of nit-wits, what's the matter with mis-fits, seems we don't fit in." Except she sings it, "What's a matter with mit-kit, what's a matter with mit-kit, what's the matter with mit-kit, I don't get it." She sings it at the top of her lungs.
(2) Josh and Jake's hilarious fighting all weekend. They were both locked together in the house all weekend because they were sick, and they were both in a horrible mood. On Sunday, they were sharing a chair playing on the computer and J was being intentionally annoying. Josh got frustrated and pushed him off the chair onto the floor, and J immediately began wailing. I took Josh by the back of the neck (Big D. style) and led him to timeout. On the way I explained that pushing Jake off the chair was not an acceptable solution to the problem. Josh's comeback was classic. "And is pinching my neck an acceptable solution? I don't think so. That is soooo hypocritcal Dad."

oh heavens. I love that little Josh. and I don't think it is possible for someone to get more excited about Christmas than Amy...speaking of which, ask her what she would like for Christmas.
nothing gets past josh does it. hahahaha i love it
i love his comments! haha! it's just a moment away before my girls start making remarks like that to me....oh man!
Wow! Josh is just too smart. These are the moments we have to look forward to. We need to lock Meg and Lucy together in a room and let them get each other enjoy each other and their Christmas fun. She is so excited. It kind of rubs off on us. It should be a fun holiday.
All I can do is shake my head at the comments of my clever grandson Josh. He makes life so fun! And so do Jake and Lucy. What a doll that Lucy is. Seems like I haven't seen you guys for too long. Looking forward to Sunday. I need to capture some of Lucy's Christmas spirit. I am threatening not to even put up the trees this year. Julie says that is unacceptable.
